The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ

The day that Jesus Christ died on the cross for all of mankind, as it states in (John 1:29) “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”, has a lot of symbolism, or representations, or said plainly, meaning.  In the Bible we know that there is the Old Testament and the New Testament. The (OT) was the physical gathering of the nation Israel, and the (NT) is the gathering of the Spiritual    Nation of Israel, more importantly Christ’s Church, and following that; the gathering of all of mankind to Christ who then gives it all to God the Father and the New Heaven and New Earth will begin. Also, the Old Testament prophesies predict the coming of a Savior to the World, and the New Testament tells about Christ coming as a babe and later, His Sacrifice for mankind to make it possible to save the World, all of mankind from Adam until the end of days.

In the article God’s Holy Day’s on this website, Please go there and read it to help you understand where I am coming from when discussing the plan of salvation for all of mankind.  Now let’s get into the Bible and see what it has to say about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

How long was Jesus on the cross before he gave up the Ghost and died? The answer is found in (Mark 15:25) “And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.”  So the 3rd hour they placed him on the cross, (Mark 15:34) “And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? Which is being interpreted, My God, My God, why have you forsaken me”? So Jesus was on the cross and died in six hours. In the God’s Holy Day article we know that the number six represents the six days of the week and of course the seventh day (the Sabbath) is a Holy Day unto God.  Also, days represented in (1Peter 3:8) states, “ But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day”. So let’s understand this, the six hours Christ was on the cross is representative of the six thousand year period of mankind again from Adam until the Kingdom of God comes at Christ’s 2nd coming. Again as it states in (John 1:29) “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”, Christ died for all the sin of mankind through this six thousand year period. How sad that the Creator of the world had to come and die for that same Creation He made. But is this all of God’s Master Plan?   Absolutely NOT! All of mankind has to learn for himself that God’s way is the best way and not Satan’s way, and look at the world around us, is this Satan’s world? A Loud AMEN! What better way for mankind to learn that God’s way is better than Satan’s than to let man live and die in this world and see nothing satisfies, and then be resurrected after their death and be shown God’s way. I believe most of mankind if not all will repent and except Jesus as their Savior, how wonderful and loving is our Creator!

Now let’s go back to what Christ said on the Cross-as he was dying and what does this mean. It is quoted above in (Mark 15:34) “My God, My God, why have forsaken me.” Through the years I have heard on many occasions through sermon’s that the reason Jesus said that was because “all the sin of the world was placed on him for that instant and the pressure of all of that is why He cried out to God for help.” Really? It made sense to me but aren’t we taught that Christ knew he was the Son of God and He came to die for the world? Yes we were and Yes He did. Then why was He freaking out at the last moment of his death? Does this seem puzzling to you? It troubled me for years. Another thought, what about in all of the other scriptures when Christ is speaking to God what does He say? Jesus says continuously, “My Father who art in Heaven” Jesus DOES’NT call God God, He calls Him FATHER. Interesting isn’t it? We must truly get into the Bible and always ask God for the Holy Spirit to understand the Bible to know what it truly means my friends. Please see 1 Corinthians 2; it will establish that we need the Holy Spirit to understand God’s word. Back to Christ and his crucifixion please, in the book of Psalms and many other places in the Old Testament it speaks of the sacrifice of a Savior for the sin of the world. When Christ was on the cross and knowing He was about to die, He wasn’t freaking out at all by saying “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me”, He was pointing to us Psalm 22 which speaks of the crucifixion of the Savior. to say it in my terms, Jesus was saying, “see this is me, I am the Savior of the World people”. He was pointing out He Was the ONE that Psalm 22 was prophesying about. Doesn’t that make so much more sense; he wanted mankind to know He is the Savior. How beautiful is that, Jesus was in control of everything He had to do before His death even the last minute of his breath, as one Minister put it, “He was teaching us pointing us to him, even in his last breath”.

Let’s discuss two more things about Christ’s crucifixion, (Mark 15:37-39) “And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent into from the TOP to the Bottom. And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, truly, this man was the Son of God”.

Let’s understand this, Christ had to fulfill all of the scriptures pertaining to Him in the Bible. When He had fulfilled all that was written Jesus stated, (John19: 30) “It is finished.” Then He said, in (iLuke23: 46) “Father in to your hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, He gave up the spirit.” What did Jesus say in (John 17-18) Please read both chapters, “Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, (His Life) and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father”. Jesus didn’t die on the cross; HE commanded His life to be taken from Him. Jesus knew he had to die, sacrifice himself for the sin’s of the world. Let’s read again Luke 23:46 “FATHER INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMEND MY SPIRIT; AND HAVING SAID THUS, HE GAVE UP THE SPIRIT” Is that unbelievable? No, Incredible!  What a Savior! Our salvation is so important to Jesus and God our Father.

Now let’s discuss the veil being ripped from top to bottom. There is a curtain that was in the Temple of God that separated the Temple from the Holy of Holies where the Mercy Seat is, and only the High Priest of the nation of Israel was permitted to go through that curtain once a year, and if anyone other than the High Priest would go through the curtain once a year they would die. Please read more about this in (Hebrews 9:1-16). The curtain ripped from the top to the bottom, think about this, ripping the curtain from the bottom up would be no problem, but ripping the curtain from the top to the bottom? The top of the curtain was fastened to the ceiling, how could you rip it from top to bottom, you couldn’t there would be no room to rip it, but, supernaturally,  God Himself or an Holy Angel  ripped it, showing that  God through Christ  finally gave access to himself. All of mankind through Christ now has access to the Mercy Seat and not just the High Priest, and that being only once a year as in the Old Testament.  Brothers and Sister’s in Christ we do have access to God, Our Father in our prayers every second of every day of our life. How wonderful is this? And it’s all because of Jesus. I encourage all of you to keep on reading as these evil days continue on, a mighty work of Christ is coming soon in (The Kingdom);  Are you preparing yourself to reign with Christ in the Kingdom? Please read, discuss, ponder, God’s Holy Spirit will keep guiding you, because God’s knowledge is what is important in this life not all of our new toys we have to keep us distracted away from Him.  Jesus is coming, and it is soon, keeping studying. Work on the self, if you are a new believer, as it states in Mathew 4:17, “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, REPENT FOR THE KINGDM OF GOD IS AT HAND”.  And in Acts 2:38, “Then Peter said unto them, REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS, AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT”.  Please except Jesus as your personal Savior, because I believe this is where we are in today’s society, (2 Timothy 3:1, 7), “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Now verse (7) EVER LEARNING, AND NEVER ABLE TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH”.  Also As Pilate said to Jesus in (John 18:38) “What is Truth?” God’s word is truth and that is what is important, not the ways of this fallen world. Come back to Christ, come back to God, and come back to the Bible. This is TRUTH. There is so much to learn, don’t let Satan and His world keep you busy and distracted, especially in our technology world that we now live in. It is a time waster Brother’s and Sister’s. I will leave you with this scripture as Peter said in (2Peter 3:18) “ But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen. This is what is important in the Last Day’s! This is God’s Truth.

God Bless you all,    Pastor Mark
