In today’s thinking there are many ways to get eternal life, that is immortality; or maybe we just live and die and there is no eternity, or you might think that there are many types of religions we can partake in and get there. Who is Jesus and why is He so important? Some religions have been worshipping other so-called god’s since mankind came into being, surely some of them can’t be wrong. Or you might think, we are man and are destined for eternity; we didn’t ask to be here on this Earth so there has to be an easy way to get to eternity.
Well let’s start by looking at the facts. As one Minister put it so nicely, and I’m sorry I can’t remember his name, but what his logic was as to why Jesus was “He is the ONLY God that has been recorded to go back to the beginning of mankind”. Not any other deity can state that, did you know that? I didn’t! Look for yourselves, study where other god’s started to be worshipped. There aren’t any that I am aware of that started at the beginning of mankind, only the God of the Bible. And if He is the only one from the beginning doesn’t it make sense that He would record what He did and Why? With this in mind then, the only place to start with Why Jesus is of course the Bible God’s Holy words that start AT the beginning of mankind.
Note: Please go to and read in its entirety all the scriptures that are quoted here. You will get a better understanding as to why I have referred to them. (Genesis 1:1) “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” That’s pretty simple to understand and pretty simple to see who the 1st and Real God is. Read all of Genesis chapter 1 and 2 for the facts about the creation of our world. NO we didn’t evolve out of some murky mess from the sea and develop throughout the ages. That is ludicrous, do you know at any given second your body that Your Creator designed is doing over 60,000,000 activities every single second of your life. I ask how can such a machine that can do 60 million things at once slowly evolve into what we are today. The impossibilities’ for that to happen are unbelievable, let alone the fact that how can Life come about from Nonlife? I feel like I’m getting off course from Why Jesus so let’s get back to the subject.
As in Genesis, God created the heavens and the earth, so how does this tie in with Jesus? Let’s go to (John 1:1-4) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was Life, and that Life was the light of men.” So you may ask who the Word that is discussed here is. Let’s turn to (John 17:5) Jesus is speaking here “And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.” Jesus was with the Father before the world began? Yes indeed he was, and as (John 1) states ALL things were made by him. Jesus was or shall we say IS the creator of the earth as well as mankind. You want more proof, (John1:10) “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.” (Verse 14), “The WORD became flesh, and made his dwelling among us.” There are many other scriptures that testify the Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He was the creator of the earth.
Ok, let’s get deeper into understanding this, according to the Bible Jesus created the heavens and the earth, so why is He the only way to Salvation? The 1st man on this earth Adam had a choice to do things God’s way or go about life his own way, sound familiar? So Adam sinned against God when he went against the ways God laid down to him. Because of that sin, the death penalty was pronounced to Adam and the rest of mankind for that matter. Let’s go to (1Corinthians 15:22), “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” God told Adam in (Genesis 2:18) “For when you eat of it (the tree of good and evil) you will surely die.” Sin entered the world through Adam, at that time there had to be a sacrifice to pay for that sin. God himself slaughtered the first animal sacrifice to pay for the sin Adam and Eve committed. That had to be hard for God to do that, kill a living thing because of someone else’s mistake. Let’s look at (Genesis 3: 21) “The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.” The penalty of sin is death, as quoted in (Romans 3:23). The animal was sacrificed for them, but they still died and then sin was introduced to mankind, and sadly we have been sinning ever since.
OK, there is sin in the world; there is a right way to live and a wrong way to live, but again Why Jesus?
God wants all of mankind to live the way he himself lives. At peace, in love, respect for others. Question? If someone came into your house and stayed with you, wouldn’t you have a code of conduct for that guest to adhere too? I think so, of course you would. Does it seem unfair for the God of all Creation to have the same expectations as we do? Not at all!
There had to be a penalty for sin and somehow or some way it had to be paid for. God did not create mankind just for the fun of it. There is a purpose for all of us being here. God loves his creation and wants to be with us and involved with us. Back to Genesis Please, God was walking in the Garden of Eden and after Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden tree (Genesis 3:8) state’s “Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day; and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.” And mankind has been hiding himself from God ever since I will add. But, Can you imagine walking with the God who created you? This is the relationship God wants with all of mankind. But now that sin entered the world, something had to be done to make possible a renewed relationship between man and God. And that thing was the Creator of Heaven and Earth, Jesus Christ, to give up His Majesty in Heaven and come down as a man and die for the Creation He himself created. No other payment could be made to save all of mankind other than the sacrifice of its Creator. How beautiful is that? Would you die for something you created or would you back off and say, “Too bad, it’s on them, I told them and they didn’t listen to me”. Sound familiar? But thankfully God the Father and Jesus, our Savior, loves their creation too much to walk away and leave us alone, to stand by and let us all die eternally. Again, we are created to be with them forever, but we must learn His way of living and not ours. In (Proverbs 14:12) “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” Folks we don’t know the right way to live, look at our world around us, confusion, frustration, greed, etc. isn’t it everywhere? Amen
Again, we have a Loving, Merciful, full of Grace God who will do all He can to save us from destruction from our sins. But as always, it has to be our choice, He will not force anyone to do anything, otherwise we would be just a bunch of yellow pencils, or all the same, like robots. God doesn’t want that. He wants loving and praising beings with him throughout eternity. And that would be us IF we chose to accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and except Him to pay the price for our sin. As Message of Hope Ministry states, (John1: 29) “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” Our Creator, Jesus did pay the price for us! Also in (Isaiah 53:6) it states, “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us had turned to his own way;” And in (Isaiah 64:5-6) “How then can we be saved? All of us have become like one who is unclean (sinned), and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags, we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.”
From Adam until now we all sin, we must admit we have lost our way as far as the way of life God teaches through the Bible. Most think it is an old book written by a bunch of shepherds and has no meaning in our life today. How sad! It is the directions or recipe for mankind on how to have a more happy abundant life here on earth as well as in the Kingdom to come and after that God himself will come down out of Heaven and dwell with mankind forever. (Revelation 21: 1-4), “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of thing s has passed away.” Does that sound like a world all of us want to be part of? Absolutely.
Other scriptures about Jesus being mankind’s Savior, (Isaiah 43:11) “I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no Savior.” Please read the whole chapter of Isaiah. (Hosea 13: 4) “But I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me.” God was speaking to the nation Israel here, but this applies today for all of mankind. (John 3: 16-17) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Also in (John 4:42) “They said to the women, (about Jesus) we no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the World.” (1Timothy 4:9-10) “This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance that we have put our hope in the living God, (Jesus) who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.” (Titus 2:13-14) “While we wait for the blessed hope-the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own; eager to do what is good.” (1John 4:14) “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son (Jesus) to be the Savior of the world.” (Jude 25) “To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. There are plenty more of these scriptures, please get into your Bible and be as the Berean’s were in (Acts 17:11, “for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true”.
In conclusion, (Jesus Christ the son of God came to pay for the sins of the world. As (Roman’s 3:23) states, “For ALL has sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”) We need our sins to be forgiven, we need a payment made on our behalf, we need Jesus Christ who is mankind’s Creator, as well as mankind’s Savior. Doesn’t that make perfect sense that the one who made us would be the one to save us from certain death due to our sins? Amen, Come, Accept your Creator, Come and Accept your Savior. He is waiting for you and that is Why Jesus, He is the ONE and the ONLY Savior for mankind.
